Queensland, Australia, Electoral Rolls 1922

418,910 records
Electoral rolls are the nearest record Australians have to census listings and hence are extremely important to local, social and family historians. This collection provides information on 418910 electors in Queensland who were registered to vote on the Commonwealth Roll of 1922. The information recorded includes the person’s name, gender, title, place of living, occupation, division and subdivision and roll number.

A redistribution of Queensland electorates occurred in 1922 - no new divisions were created or abolished.

Compulsory enrolment was introduced for all federal rolls from 1911, so the 1922 roll should reflect the adult population (over 21 years) excluding the foreign and indigenous population. Voting in Federal elections was compulsory from 1925.

Queensland Family History Society Inc. aims to promote the study of family, and local history, genealogy, and heraldry, and to encourage the collection and preservation of records relating to the history of Queensland families. www.qfhs.org.au
