I think if you squint hard enough, you will see there are more than 1 santa claus at the base of the tree which is contravening known rules about Santa Claus appearances. Constitution Square is at the centre of Athens, in front of the palace with the Evzone guards in their pompom shoes and at the start of Ermou Street which is the main shopping street. Other than live music at night, a carousel for children and Santas touting for business (selling photos, sweets), Athens doesn't make much of an attempt at providing a Christmas atmosphere like other European capital cities.
