Biography
Arthur James De Armond came with his parents to the Oklahoma Territory and staked a claim to land 11 miles southeast of Cherokee, Ok. He was raised a farmer, but in 1907 he moved to Arlington, Co., where he staked a claim nearby to land and prospected for gold as well as hunting and trapping. After 3 years he returned to the Cherokee, Ok. area where he met a school teacher by the name of Mary Catherine Bullard, she was born in Jet Ok.. She was certified in both Kansas and Oklahoma and taught in both states at the same time, Arthur and Mary were married 18 August 1918. I know very little to nothing of any prior family history before this, the family lays claim to being of Scots-Irish and Cherokee blood lines, however I'm told our surname is of French origins.
