Source citationsSource: Correspondence: M'lou Date: Jan 10 2000 BiographyI am sending your mom some of my information about Oliver Perry because he is a fascinating person. He is listed in the "Who's who in California" in 1928-1929, as well as the "Pioneers of California" historical book. These can be obtained from the California Historical Society. Also his military pension records are available from the National Archives. Call your local genealogy society and ask if they have a form No. NASR 80. With that form and $17.00 you can order a copy of his pension and military records which will give you a great deal of information. I obtained a copy of his pension application card from www.ancestry.com. You go into the site, into military records, and then to images online and it will download to you. You can either order the form via email directly to the National Archives, or get it from the Gene. Soc.   There are other articles written about him, he was pretty famous in the area. One called the History of the Bench and Bar, edited by J.C. Bates, San Francisco Bar Publishing Company, 1912, page 519.   Beverly Carrigan [carigan@inreach.com] 8/6/2000 -------------------- M'lou has Pioneers of CA book -------------------- Oliver went to CA with son James in 1849.
