Biography

Westley was Alexie' oldest son. He farmed most of his life. Westley also owned a slaughter house and made and sold smoked sausage and boudin at different times in his life after age 40.

Westley also suffered several near death experiences. One majore event was the time he and his wife were driving home later after working hard all day and Westley fell asleep at the wheel while crossing a bridge over a bayou. His car went through the side rails of the bridge and landed at the bottom edge of the bayou over a fence, which caused a creasote pine post to be driven through the bottom of the car and through the seat of the vehicle and then completely through his thigh and then through his abdomen, pinning Westley into the car. His wife, Me'Me', was able to get out of the car and walked to a house down the road and was able to get help to go cut Westley out of the car. During the event Westley's car door was jammed and would not open. Through a feat of miracelous strength, when nothing else was able to open the car door, his brother Elward, was able to pull the jammed door open so that others could cut the post away fro the car so that they could remove Westley. While removing Westley from the car, they had to keep the post in his leg and through his body as they drove him to the Savoy Memorial Hospital in Mamou Louisiana.

Westley always succeeded at any business he decided to start. He was able to make things work out but Wesley tended to become board with whatever he was making money with and would end up closing every business he ever started.

Westley was a very tough man and was a great hunter who always did well when he went on any hunt.

There are many factual and interesting stories about Westley's life. These will be added as future notes.
