John Parker III Deacon John Parker, III, 74, died Monday, Dec. 1 after an illness at his residence in Blue Bell. Born July 2, 1934, in West Chester, he was the son of the late Theodosia (Derrick) and John Parker, II. He was the husband of Peggy (Tomasello) Parker. A former Walnut Street resident, he had been residing in Blue Bell for a couple of years. He was a longtime employee of PECO Energy Co., in their gas division, retiring in 1990 after 33 years. He was part of the diaconate program of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia having been ordained May 23, 1993, and happened to be stationed at his home parish of Holy Saviour. He was a Navy veteran during the Korean War, and was a member of the Padre Pio prayer group board, and Secular Franciscan Order spiritual minister, the Holy Name spiritual director, and inductee of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: John (Kathy) Parker, IV, Naperville, IL.; Marlene Parker, Marion, IN.; and Christopher (Ashley) Parker, Lansdale; five Grandchildren: Jessica, Sean, Chelsea, April and Joseph Thomas, and sister Martha (Jack) Esbin, Toledo, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jacob in 1980. Relatives and friends and clergy are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. from Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Norristown, Pa. 19401. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be private in St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton. The family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to Holy Saviour Church, at the above address and/or St. Joseph's House, 640 Buck Run Road, East Fallowfield, PA 19320. Funeral arrangements are with the Caramenico FH Inc., Norristown.
