Biography

Contracted measles in Flat Lick KY in March 1862 and effected eyes. As result of poor vision Samuel served

as ambulance driver during the war. Information from Pension records: file #337537

 

Samuel moved his family to Coalfield in Morgan County 1884.

Samuel moved his family to Scarbrough and purchased 15 acres on Chestnut Ridge in wife's name.

Samuel purchased 74 acres on Pine Ridge and gave it to his sons.

Samuel purchased 1 acre in Scarbrough which was distributed to his heirs in 1942.
