* Jacob Resided in Sheridan, Indiana and other places in Tipton County Indiana. He aslo was married in the German Baptist Church in Versailles, IN. He was present in Ripley County when the Confederate General Morgan invaded Ripley County. His wife's sister Catherine was the wife of Levi Morris who also lived in Sheridan.

Jacob's obituary stated that : " He was born July 24, 1824...in

Hamilton County, Ohio... and his father's (John) farm at that time is now a part of the city of Cincinnati. " The Obituary further states that when Jacob was two years old his parents moved to Kentucky ... also claiming that his father died in Kentucky at the age of 96 years. When Jacob was 19 he went to Ripley County IN. He married Elizabeth Martin in Versailles, IN and lived there until 1864.
