I was born on a Wednesday at 12-35 pm. My mother was 24 years old. I was born with a condition called" Pinks Disease" and a Cleft Palette. This was probably due to my mother lacking in Zink. I was the third son to Vince Lionel Rimmer and Phyllis May Burns. As a child I enjoyed going to the beach and playing cricket with my older brothers and Dad. We lived in a house that my father built at 31 Bogalara Rd Old Toongabbie NSW. We lived there until about June 1959. We then moved to 23 Lloyd St, Blacktown. I lived there till I married Doris Lenore Francis, on the 22 nd February 1968. After our marriage we moved many times. I was employed as a Field Service Mechanic by Kelvinator Australia. At Euston Road Alexandria, "Sydney"
Then in 1972 we were able to purchase a home at 34 MacKellar Rd Blackett. At this period I started driving Taxi, and later Government buses. We then moved in 1978 to 26 Scott St, Pendle Hill. In 1981 pending divorce we sold our home and we began renting at 108 Fitzwilliam Rd Toongabbie. Lenore left in Apr- May of 1982 leaving our son Jamie and daughter Tanya and I. Later that same year Tanya left to live with her mother who was then living in Liverpool. During the early part of 1982 my Mother and Father, bought a house on the corner of Fitzwilliam road and Rousch Street a few houses from where Jamie and I were living. By this time I had left the Buses. (To work once again with my brother Vince) Jamie and I moved in with my parents for a short time. Early in 1984 Jamie and I moved yet again, we rented a small 2 bedroom place at 46 Budgeree Rd Pendle Hill. This is where I was living when in October 1985. I met Maree Suzzane Holliday at a dinner for single adults. We started dating and were married on the 22 February 1986, " We were married on the same day as Lenore and I were married. "
My son Jamie and I then moved in with Maree and her 4 Girls. karina, Vanessa, Tania, and the baby Larissa who had just turned two the day before we married. We lived at 31 Willarong Rd Mt Colah, Jamie found it hard to live with Maree's girls as they anoyed him. He moved out, and went to live with his mother. Shortly before marrying Maree I started work with Hornsby Shire Council, as a Plant Opperater. I was soon in charge of looking after 31 Parks and Ovals. I was the only opperator given permission to take his machine home, where I could start and finish my working day. In November 1989, Maree the four girls and I relocated to St, Marys in Tasmania.
We rented a small house till our house was built, we moved into our house in Febuary of 1990. Soon after I was offerd a job driving a school bus from St Marys District School down to Scamanda.I was also elected Presedent of the Parents and Friends at the High School 1991-1992, during this period I attended and compleated years 11& 12 at the age 0f 43 obtaning my TCE. ( Tasmanian Certificate of Education )
Due to dificulties we left St Marys in Febuary 1993 and moved to Forth just outside of Devonport. Then in June 1993 we bought a house at 521a Leigth. In Late January 1994 Maree and I parted company. This was very devastating to me. I went to stay with my brother Vince and his wife Sue at Castle Hill in Sydney. During the 1994 bushfire outbreak moving back to Devonport in Febuary 1994. Maree organised a unit for me to rent. Unit 1 / 23 Kempling St, Devonport. I stayed there till July as I could not afford the rent. I moved out going to a small one bedroom unit at 9 Waniora Street Devonport. While here I found a job in Burnie with Elphinstone as a cleaner They where a large underground machinery manufacturer. I started in July 1994 and left in August 1995. I also made another move to a unit at 1/79 Nixon St Devonport in Febuary 1995. To be closer to Maree and the children. This was to be my last place of residentcy in Tasmania.
I left Tasmania in Termoil very upset and longing to stay. In August 1995. How sad I felt at leaving I cannot express just how much this move effected me. I sailed to Melbourne amid tears and a very restless night. The next day I found it very difficult to be on my own, but I managed to find a caravan park and stayed there for 3 nights. and then I moved into a house with 4 other boarders I lived in the garage that had been coverted into a bedroom. I shared the kitchen and lounge room, At 78 Mansfield St Northcot Victoria, While there I found a job as a Bus driver. I made friends with a fellow who's name is Chris, he and I moved into a two bedroom unit at 1/ 14 Waverley Avenue Ivanhoe Victoria, on the 9th October 1995 till 9th August 1996, during this time I was working for the Ivanhoe Bus company. I then moved up to Sydney and lived with my daughter Tanya, her husband Gary and Jessica their daughter. I worked at varies places untill I found work with Australia Post as a Postal Transport Officer," Driver," I Started on the 17th September 1997. Soon after Tanya, Gary, and I bought a house at 14 Guernsey Way Stanhope Gardens and moved in on the 13 June 1998.
My life had not been the same since my divorce from Maree. I always thought that we would get back together some day. Then one day I relised that we were not going to be together so it was time for me to move on.
I met Miriam Joyce Matheson on another single adult program, this time at Angelsea in Victoria. We met in June 2000 and we were married on the 21 October 2000. Tanya and Gary decieded to sell the house in Stanhope Gardens. So Miriam and I moved to unit at 1/23 Hillcrest Rd Quakers Hill in April 2001. This also was a move that was both good and bad for me as I had come accustomed to being with Mark my grandson. In January 2002 my son Jamie bought a house at 23 Jocelyn Bouldevard Quakers Hill, which Miriam and I rented. At the time of writing this i am still with Australia Post, and Miriam is a Receptionist with Neil Jenman. (A Real Estate Advicate) I have had two heart attacks one in 1998 and another in Febuary 2000 I had Double By Pass surgery. One week after the By Pass I started to get a lot of Pain in my right shoulder this pain moved down my right arm causing endless nights without sleep. I lost the entire use of my Right arm and hand. I was unable to perform the lightest task, nor was I able to work or drive till late in November 2000. When I was able to return to work. I had been out of work since Febuary with no weekly pay or leave pay intitelments. Little did I realise that my arm would never be the same again. During my absents from work I would go into work just for the company as Miriam was at work. One one of these occations my manager said that there was to be a collection taken up for me. Little did I know that through the generosity of my work collegues that I was to recieve almost $600.00 which was more then any other person had received. I finished up with Australia Post on the 28 September 2005.
Miriam and I were sealed for time and all Eternity on the 10 Apr 2004 in the Sydney Temple some of Miriams family were able to attend. Her brother Robert acted as proxy for me as I was sealed to Mum and Dad. Miriam, acted as Proxy for my Mum. We are on the move again. Jamie is selling his house, so Miriam and I are relocating. We are moving to Victoria. We moved out of Jocelyn Boulivard on the12 October 2005. we stayed at a friends house at Emerald in Victoria before settling on a house at 8 Wisteria Court Pakenham. We moved in on the 16 November 2005. After looking around for work I succeded in finding work here in Pakenham as a Tracktor driver groundsman I started work on the 19 December 2005 as a casual. I worked there till July 2006. This was due to my employer miss leading me as to permanency.
I then found work driving for a transporrt company here in Pakenham,(Sundrums Transport) who contracted work in Dandenong. But a better job came up and I applyed for it and I was succesful in obtaining this job working for Pac Bin Hire as a driver. I worked for him for only a short time due to servear pain. After consulting my doctor And a Cardiolagist I was informed that my working life had come to an end. This was Febuary 2007.
