BiographyDescendants of Freidrich Wilhelm BolduanGeneration No. 2 2.FERDINAND2BOLDUAN (FREIDRICHWILHELM1) was born January 24, 1841 in Germany, and died January 2, 1929. He married PAULINEWEIST 1872 in Germany, daughter of MATTHEWWEIST. She was born February 21, 1851 in Germany, and died 1905. Notes forFERDINANDBOLDUAN: Ferdinand Bolduan, son of Freidrich Wilhelm and Christina Charlotte (nee Scheil) Bolduan and Pauline Weist, daughter of Matthew Weist (mother's name unknown) were married in Germany in 1872, and came to America in the fall of 1883 with their six oldest children who were born in Germany: William, Otto, Minnie, Emma, Friedrick (Fred), and Louise (Lizzie). Grandpa Ferdinand was born and baptized in Alt Jaershagen (Stary Jaroslov is the Polish name), west and north of Schlawe near the Baltic Sea. They lived at Rislow, Pommern (Rzyszczewo it the Polish name), west and south of Schlawe, and this is where their first six children were born. This area was under Russian control after World War II. Since the Berlin Wall fell in 1990, it is part of Poland. Otto told us that a boy died on the way across and was buried at sea (name and age unknown). They settled in Hokah, Minnesota for the first few months. They then moved to a form on "Peacock Ridge"; namely, the form that later was the Friedrick Bolduan farm, then the Harold Bolduan farm, and is now owned by Michael Bolduan. Anna, Paul, and Frank, as well as babies Babe, Ferdinand and Amial (could this be Emil that we have heard about?), were born in Union Township in Houston County near Caledonia, Minnesota.
