Benjamin C. Mummery, 64, 544 Elizabeth St., died last night in St Joseph's Mercey Hospital after a brief illness. Born 28th June 1879 in Ann Arbor, he was the son of Arthur J. and Elizabeth Mummery. A life-long resident of this city, for the last 25 years Mr Mummery was in the painting and decorating business. He was a member of St Thomas Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
He was married Aug 26 1903, to the former Johanna Dexter of Saginaw.
Survivors are his widow, two sons, Herbert L. Mummery, Salina, A Joseph Mummery, Ann Arbor, three daughters, Mrs William Young and Mrs Long White, both of Ann Arbor, Mrs Horace Reid, Saginaw and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brother, Arthur E. Mummery, Ann Arbor, and two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Kitson, Ann Arbor and Miss Mary V Mummery, Jackson.
Funeral service will be held at 9 o'clock Monday Morning in St Thomas Catholic Church and the burial, immediately following in the St Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence where the rosary will be recited at 6 o'clock tomorrow night.
