Source citationsSource: Very dodgy memories... BiographyElizabeth was married, the first time, Protestant Reformers Memorial Church in the Kirkdale/Everton area. She, according to family legend, attended this church in her youth, and held much respect for it's overtly Orange leader, George Wise (http://www.orangenet.org/liverpool/georgewise/george%20wise.htm). However, it was Wise's position that eventually persuaded her to leave the church, and attend the Kirkdale Baptist Tabernacle instead. She wished to attend a wedding/funeral/similar service at a catholic church, in support of a catholic friend of hers, and Pastor Wise told her she should not. She concluded that, whilst Pastor Wise was a great leader in many ways, not all of his views were correct, and subsequently left his congregation.   Despite this, Elizabeth never spoke of Wise with anything other than the utmost respect for a man whose opinion differed from her own in some matters.   =================   Birth registered Apr, May, Jun 1888 - probably born in March, since she was thirteen, not twelve, in the 1901 census.   1891 census, resident with John and Elizabeth Dansey, grandparents, at 23a Rose Vale.
