Harbon Riley Fox was the son of Uel Daniel Fox and Delilah Wyatt. He married Elvira Grant March 21, 1866 in Cooke County, Texas. Harbon and Elvira had 16 children. He was called into service by Sam Houston and the state of Texas to become a Texas Ranger on April 7, 1860, when only 18 years old. Harbon served in Co. "G", Benavide's Regiment of Texas Calvary during the Civil War.
