Sailed for Launceston from Liverpool aboard FRS Montmorency on 1/4/1855 arriving in a record 80 days (story in the Examiner) on 28/6/1855. Also on board were wife Catherine Rosina (31) daughters Caroline (11),Loiusa Caroline (5) and Wilhelmine (1 3/4) .Listed on passenger log as Lutheran, gardener and from Wuttemberg, Germany. Also stated that all but Wilhelmine could read and write. Introduced to AF Rooke (bonded)
