John James Mason

John James Mason was a graduate of Philomath College in Philomath, Oregon.  He met his future wife, Clarinda Maranda Crawford while attending her father's church.  Reverend Newton Jasper Crawford had moved his family from Colorado to open up another church for the United Brethren Church.  He and Clarinda were married in Chico, California and later, moved to Los Angeles, where John James Mason became a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
