Jozef changed his name while in Russian Camp so he could get released into the Polish Army. He was born Mikolaj Rozko
And he never seen or heard from his family again. I never knew anything of my fathers life as their generation never spoke of the past but after his death I decided to try and find them. He had 5 brothers and a sister all sadly departed but his sister in laws and nephews and cousins were still alive and still living in the small village 1km from the Russian border. Later on that year 2006 My husband and I made a surprise trip out there where we were greeted with open arms despite the language barrier we had a lovely although sad time with all the wasted years that had gone by. I saw photos of my dad when he was in his teens it was lovely to see as really for us his life started in Scotland after 1945.
