Biography

Grover Douglas age 5 arrived at Port Chalmers, Dunedin with his family from England on May 23 1874. they settled in Green Island and when Grover was old enough to work he chose to be a Fellmonger. this involved the preparation of animal skins especially sheepskins prior to leather making. he later became a wool classer - a specialised job in the wool industry. Grover passed away age 75 and is buried in Anderson's Bay Cemetery, Dunedin.
