Perce (Peblo) Pritchard

A brilliant half back during the 1940's, was twice very unlucky not to represent Australia in 1948 and 1949. Initially he formed and outstnading half-back/five eighth combination with Australian representative Ned Andrews at club, Newcastle and NSW levels. His career suffered some interruptions due to injury, but were not sufficiently serious to prevent him from representing NSW four times from 1947 to 1950. He played two seasons with Manly Warringah in 1950-51 and represented city seconds against country seconds in 1950. This great little player was known to all and sundry in the Merewether area and beyond by his nickname 'Peblo'.
