Arthur worked as a clerk at George DesMarais' Grocery at 1913-1915 N. Madison, as did George's daughter (and Arthur's future wife) Adele.

Witnesses at the wedding of Arthur and Adele were Armand Bergerin, probably Arthur's uncle (records from Laura Williams mention "Aunt Valerie Bergervin" who was married in Bay City in 1879).

By 1924, Arthur ran the National Grocery Store at 910 1st Ave. in Bay City (from the "Bay City Directory").

Arthur died of a stroke while pulling into his driveway at 207 Woodside, Essexville, MI.
