Hi Theresa, I have had a look at your web site and will also email you but I just wanted to touch base. I am a direct Sandeman desendant in Australia. I am related to the families you have indicated that you are interested in however I'm not a direct line desendant of these families. There are strong indicators that your family and mine may be connected from your family tree. I have confirmed records of my family coming from Dundee, Scotland. Is all your information confirmed ? If so I would love to try and peice our families together. My earlies confirmed record is David Sandeman (1755) and Elspeth Forbes (1754). Their son George immigrated to Australia, hence my family line. I'm having great difficulty with the English and Scottish records, mainly because of the time it takes to find and wade through all the information and while there were some unsual names most were the same, so theres oodooles (a mountain) of information to get through.
I look forward to hearing from you to see if we are kin.

Regards
Jas

Hi Jas, I sent out an email to you last night re David George but have just come across this message you sent to me directly in December. All my information is confirmed, I don't put it on the web page until it is. I have only recently got my direct line back to a John Sandeman who married Margaret Matthew in Saint Cyrus, Angus in 1773, they had a son Peter born in Tannadice, Angus in 1789. Peter married May or Marjory Duncan and Peter's son John was born in Kirriemuir, Angus in 1814 but lived most of his life in Auchterhouse, Angus. He married Margaret Nicholson. He had a daughter Jessie in 1836 who moved to Dundee. Jessie never married so the family name is carried down through her. I've not had a chance to update this tree past Jessie yet as I've been having a few problems publishing it to the web. I'll keep trying but please let me know if any of the above names or dates mean anything to you. I think or hope to find that my line of Sandemans joins up with the ancestors of the famous Perth Sandemans who all originated in Alyth in the 16 hundreds. Any info you can pass on would be great. By the way where were your Sandemans based? Were they all from Dundee and if so which parts or streets???
Hope to hear from you soon.
Theresa
