I haven't looked at the site much as the Sutherland connection is in my husband's family. I do however note that our link is not mentioned. John Sutherland and Celia Elizabeth Coleridge had a daughter Florence Mary Coleridge Sutherland born 8 January 1859 (possibly in Knysna). She married George Rankin on 16 January 1883 at the Church of St Michael and All Angels in Queenstown. This information comes from the Family history written by Mary Butler who was Florence's granddaughter, and who remembers her great-grandmother Celia Elizabeth Sutherland. Celia died in Durban on 21 June 1924. Florence died in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1900. I haven't looked at a single birth certificate or anything to verify any of this but Mary's mother Amy and the rest of the siblings bar one were sent back to South Africa to be looked after by Celia and John Sutherland (their grandparents) and their maiden aunt Amy Newton Sutherland after their mother's death.
I can send you a copy of Mary Butler's story but it is not well referenced, was written in the mid-80's and the information seems to be gleaned from various family membersbut it makes for interesting reading.
