Stephen P. Caudell, Jr.Hi Nanalee, I'm just curious why you have split the Caudill's and Caudle's into different branches. Everything that I have been able to find is that the Caudill's were "originally" Caudle's. Steve
I have not seen anything to prove the original spelling of the name or where the first Caudill/Caudle came from. That would be a very wonderful thing to know.
All of the Caudill (or any other spelling) that I have run across anywhere seem to go back to one of the sons of old Stephen of Lunenburg, VA. eventually.
Just using my own situation.
On my CAUDLE grandfather's side I was told WE are CAUDLES & came from England. WE are not related to the CAUDILLS
On my CAUDILL grandmothers side. We are CAUDILLS & came from Scotland.
I worked a long time to prove that they were both of the same Caudill/Caudle family. We did that with dna.
Many Caudills left NC & became Caudles, It may have been only the location of where they lived. One of Great Grandfather Peter Caudle's sons moved his family to West Virginia & became a Caudell
So I guess the answer would be they are different branches but of the same tree
Nanalee WrennI went in to try to work on it & it wouldn't let me do anything.
My choices were to pay for an update or delete. I am only allowed 500 people for free & I had 686. At the moment I cannot pay for an update so I chose to delete. When I can get another one together with the required 500 or less persons I will put it up again. In the meantime I will be more than happy to share my files in Family Tree Maker with you.Let me know which ones you are interested in. I am working on A new tree & hope to have it up soon.

Stephen P. Caudell, Jr.Nanalee, how did you get the picture on the "dashboard" (first page of My Heritage) to change to show your picture and not the default picture?

Nanalee WrennYou can change your profile photo by clicking on edit my profile on your profile page....however I did not change the photo myself. I think when I deleted the tree it deleted a bunch of my pictures, along with my original profile photo (me & my great grandchildren). The picture on the right has a link (replace this photo). I will see if it will change it to a photo of my cousin.
