carl leonard welcome joe; you are not to far away from me.if you have heard or know of the " franklin mills mall " i am five minutes from there. i can go back to about 1700 with the currie's and 1800 with the nicholson's. most i can document..

carl leonard hi joe; a little confustion right off the top.your duncan currie b. 1838 is listed as being married or partnered to douglas currie b.--1840. it shows they had at least duncan who was married to catherine marshall.
i did find a duncan currie in the 1700's looking up my gr.gr.grandfather henry currie not knowing i would be trying to find him again though your family. so i will give it a whirl again. maybe working from that end forward i may uncover something.

Joe Hay Ha, Ha! Sorry I did not explain Douglas. I have a whole cart load of women named Douglas, in my tree.
You'll find them in my HAY, BARR, and CURRIE, lines

Joe Hay Oh, I left out Douglas FULTON. As a matter of fact I've found no Males named Douglas in my tree!
Now, Duncan Currie and Catherine Marshall married in 1831, had their first child Donald in 1835 and then a son Duncan in 1838. He's the one that married Douglas in Apr 1861 and 3 months later they had a son Duncan, Jul 1861. They named the second child Douglas (female).
Can get confusing for sure! The Oldest Duncan Currie on my tree I have no dates for. When his wife Catherine died in 1860 she was already a widow. Her age was about 78 as far as I can tell from the scribble on her death certificate, which would mean she was born about 1782. Her husband was probably a few years older.
