bruce mcfarlane Hi Helen
You are not alone in thinking Henry Jennings was the son of Francis Grooby. He was actually his grandson, the son of Thomas Jennings and Mary Grooby. He was living with his grandparents in 1841 (his father may have recently died) . The census compiler may have been confused. There is also confusion on the passenger list where his mother was caring for her unmarried cousin (Harriett)'s baby Eliza, and Henry is lumped with the Groobys. Henry Jennings died in Jan 1896 in Nelson. He was mining in Collingwood and was on his way to the hospital. His widow was Eliza Mirena (Beard).
Hope you can follow this rather jumbled story.
Regards
Bruce

Grayson Javins Hi Helen,
A short note to let you know Carole Joy Shaw passed away this morning at 12:15am at a hospice in New Plymouth after a short acute illness. She was on the board of the hospice for many years and seems fitting she spent her last hours in the care of the staff there.

Marion Jacoba Theadora Bekkers Hi Helen, I was just wondering we still keep having the same Debra Ash that is a smart match between our trees. How are you related to her?? and how do our trees converge Her GFather is a brother of my Husbands Gfather? And i am researching the Ash Family Tree and do not know too much as my Mother in Law was an only child and she passed away 4 years ago.. I thought you maybe have some information on the Ash family Tree.
regards Marion
