Betty Jo Melton I am John Turner Melton's granddaughter. Elijiah Jeremiah was his father. I and 3 other cousins and 1 Aunt have been try to find where he died and is buried. I live in Navarro County, Texas, where he was born and have search all records that I can fine and we have all walked the cemetaries for years andhave been unable to even find a clue. His widows 2nd husband is buried very closed to where I live. She is buried in a cemetary in Frost, Texas. Nice to meet you, maybe we can help each other. Betty Melton, Dickson

Betty Jo Melton I am a direct dec. of Elijiah Melton & Elizabeth Batson, and going on down to William Melton & Sarah (sallie) Moberly,Meador. Then to John C. P. Melton & Sarah Louisa Lemmon. Then Elijiah Jeremiah Melton & Sarah (sally) White. Then John Turner Melton & Mary Dorcas Jackson. Then Ollie Lonzo Melton & Mildred Pauline Barnett. Then Me. I do not have a premium membership, with My Heritage.com, so I only put on my web site, direct line family members, in order to keep the numbers under 500.Their are a number of web sites that I am unable to agree with. For one is Sarah (sallie) Moberly, Meador. Her middle name was Moberly after a near neighbor and distance cousin. She and William are buried very close to where I live. They came to this County when they came to TExas. My dear Aunt started this Melton search in about 1960 and since her death, I and three of my cousins have tried to continue it . I started in 1976, with out a computer and had to do it by reasearch and legal records. If you can get a copy of the book "The Other Brother". I have found it helpped me a lot when I was just starting out, in 1976. We can go back to the 1200s, in England, on the Melton side of my family ,on the internet, but I have found that the things, you find there are very unproven. I can only prove back to Elijiah and Elizabeth. That is only six generations. Not far in"history time". BETTY
