My head is spinning I still can t fathom out who you belong to,can you please explain what relation we are to each other?{I will not sleep tonight with all these names going round in my head}you have a lot to answer for.I am only a learner.
Yours sincerely Margaret Parkinson
O dear me, what have I done to you, I hope that you did eventually manage to get some sleep.I must say that for someone who considers themself to be "just a learner" you have done quite well so far, we are all learning the mysteries of this family tree lark and just like you, I also have those senior moments as well. The link between our family trees, although by "indirect means" really came about by accident as I was aware of a link to a Pilling family but originally went off in the wrong direction.
However,in order to try and answer your question, Leon Gordon Finch was related via Norman Coward's cousin's husband once removed.
Indirectly related via William Porter who was Norman Coward's cousin's husband.
Indirectly related via Joseph Pilling (1788) who was William Porter's great-great uncle by marriage.
There is a John Hurst (1847) born to James Hurst and Betsy Holland and he is my great-great uncle.
Through these and various other linkages our families are linked, albeit "indirectly" but I must admit to struggling with all this "removed" business. Trusting the above is helpful to you but does not cause any headaches for you.
yours sincerely
CHARLES HARMAN
Dear Charles,
I have just got the D/Cs of my grt grt grandparents John and Margaret Pilling,It says J.Winnard son in law was in attendance at the time of death.Would this be a relative of your Mother and a connection to my family?
Yours sincerely Margaret Parkinson
