Terri (Coulson) Bobo Hi Terry,
Thank you for the welcome!! I think it is great that you started a heritage website for the Johnston's. I moved away from calif at the age of 10yrs old so I didnt get to know or remember alot of my aunt and uncles. I remember Aunt Zoe real well along with Tammy and Cyndi and Grandpa and Grandma but that is about it. So I am excited about this and getting to know my relatives. Thanks so much. Terri

Unknown So Terri when are we going to get some pictures of you and your family? My Mom was ostersized from the family for marrying into the wrong race during my early childhood (I was 5 and they divorced when I was 16) so I did not get to meet you or your siblings and I have not memories of your Mom so I am really looking forward to seeing pictures and learning about her and all of you.

Helen "Johnston" Moore Are you "daughter" or "granddaughter" of Emzy and Zoo? I think you meant Granddaughter didn't you?

Unknown My Mother was Lois the 13th child born to Emzy and Zua, so yes I am their Granddaughter but I'm just a little confused, is your comment simply a correction of my capitalization or am I missing something else?
Welcome to the website! I'm happy to see new relates join the site and I am excited to know how you are related, I look forward to seeing more comments and pictures!

Peter Warren Terry, I just wrote you a long comment about me (Barbara Johnston Warren, my sister Helen Moore and about your Mom coming back to Gore, Oklahoma with us (my Mother, my sister Rubye, and me back in 1954. Lois stayed with us a few weeks and we had a great time. She was a year or two older than I was. Joe was about my age. I was 70 in October 2008. Anyway, just as I was about to send the comment, my whole email disappeared! So...I am sending this to you, I hope. We are the Oklahoma James Marion Johnston cousins. Hope you guys had a great family reunion! I have added our family names and dates to the family tree, I hope. Helen emailed it to me. She was NOT correcting your punctuation on the email above. She was just wondering if you are Lois' daughter or sister. My email address is warrenpeace55@yahoo.com I am so glad to get in contact with you all! Tell my cousins hello for me! I knew Joyce, Joe, Wayne and Wesley. Time flies! I am wondering how you and Helen got in touch with each other. She is 80 and is seldom on email or the internet. I see you live in Oregon. I used to love it when we would drive to Oregon to visit my brother Lee Roy and his family whe he worked in the sawmills. Cya!

Peter Warren Hey, I found this first comment so I am sending it to you just after I sent my second one off. I am your crazy cousin Barbara! Your Mom and I used to laugh a lot together. Was she as crazy as I am sounding tonight? Ha... Hi Terry, I am your second cousin, Barbara Johnston Warren. I am first cousin to your Mom, Lois. I am the eighth child of Erma Eula and James Marion Johnston, your Grandfather Emzy's older brother. Lois and I used to enjoy spending time together when our family would go out to California or when the Emzy clan would come back for a family reunion to Muskogee or Shawnee, Oklahoma. Lois came back to Oklahoma with us in our car one summer and spent a few weeks with us at the big town of Gore, America, population 350! That was about 1954, I think. It is so good to connect with your California Johnston family on this website that Helen Moore, my sister, sent me the other day. I can assure you that Helen was not correcting your punctuation! She is less computer literate than even I am! She just was wondering if you are a daughter or granddaughter of Uncle Emzy and Aunt Zue. She and I just know the few things we know about computers and nothing else. I am excited about this website and all the names you have entered. I have added the James Marion Johnston children and spouses and also the grandchildren. I will keep entering names as I have time and memory. Will this go to you on email? I guess you will have to pick it up from the Johnston website, right? My email address is warrenpeace55@yahoo.com I sure hope we can stay in contact with each other. The other night when I was reading your entries, I think I saw that your mother has passed away. I am so sorry to hear about that. If it was a different sister, just let me know. I also remember Joyce, Joe, Wayne and Wesley. They and your Mom were nearest my age. I was 70 in October 2008. I think your mother was a couple of years older than I am. Joe was born in 1938, I think. Oh well, my memory span is about as long as an eyelash twitch. Gotta go to bed. Please let me know if you get this comment. Thanks from your cousin, Barbara

Unknown I'm so glad that you have written back! We just got home from the reunion and I am whopped! I am so excited to hear all about my grandfathers brothers and sisters. We have dwindled down to 5 of the original 17 children of Emzy and Zua (Zoo - I certainly don't understand the spelling from back then but they did pronounce her name Zoo but it was spelled Zua ... ) I was also contacted by Richard Ellis whose mother is Gladys Balyeat. He emailed me newspaper clippings but they are very blurry and difficult to read so I'm not sure where she fits in the family. Maybe you can help me with that! I look forward to all information you can help us with. A large number of the grandchildren of Emzy and Zua are very interested in our lineage and history. Please let me know if there are any shortcuts I can help you with, but I must say you have done VERY well so far! I look forward to our continued correspondence...I have to go cook dinner for grandchildren right now but will post reunion pictures after they are put to bed!
