David Sr. Michael DeshotelsHi Melissa, This is David Deshotels and I'm taking a little time this morning to look through your family tree to see where my family connects with your husband's "Deshotels" side and possibly on you or your husband's side with the Youngs and Fontenot's. I believe all Fontenots are related in Louisiana, just as all Deshotels are related. I have had some trouble following the "Young" family because there seems to be more than one family who came to Louisiana. Also, I have learned that many "Young's" originated from the "LeJune" family since Le June means The Young in French, as you probably already know. My mother's mother was a "Young" and her mother was a "Fontenot". This was interesting to me because my research of the Deshotels family on my father's side showed me that my father also has "Fontenot" as part of his family. It's the same "Fontenot" family that is in my mother's family. It is very interesting because so many of us are related and it's sad that people don't care as much about family or "relatives" as people use to. Most of us will never meet and will never know we are related, but people like you and I are helping link a lot of family who never knew they were related. I think that's pretty cool. I'm going to try to look through your family tree some more and see where the Deshotels in both of our family trees cross.
