Why doesn’t the photo recognition on the MyHeritage app identify people in my family?

There can be two options for face recognition not to work: if the face recognition didn’t detect the face or if the contact isn’t on your contact list.

If the people in the photo aren’t facing the camera, their faces aren’t straight, their eyes are covered or the photo is too dark or blurry – faces appearing might not be detected (note that’s it’s fine to have more than one face in the photo, Face Recognition will run on every face that was detected).

If the person in the photo isn’t on your contact list, face recognition might recognize his face but won’t offer him as a suggested contact. If you wish to add more family to your contact list, add them to your family tree on MyHeritage.com or add them through the MyHeritage app.
