What do I do if I get a sync error on Family Tree Builder?

If you receive a sync error in Family Tree Builder,

please check if you have any network security or communications software running on your computer, or on the network which your computer is a part of. This may include firewalls, proxy servers and/or routers. The presence of such software or hardware may cause problems communicating with MyHeritage unless properly configured.

Try to upgrade to the latest version of Family Tree Builder, through the Tools > Check for updates menu or download it here.

If you continue to receive a sync error, please contact our Support Service and include the following information:

  • Your version of Family Tree Builder (Help > About Family Tree Builder)
  • Your operating system and anti virus software
  • The exact text of the error message
  • If possible, a screen shot of the error message
