How do I publish my family tree from Family Tree Builder?

To Publish your family tree from Family Tree Builder to your family site, click the Publish button on the toolbar. If you have not already done so, FTB will remind you to Save the changes. Please remember that you must have the Internet active when you want to publish the file.

If you are publishing for the first time:

then you will see the following window after clicking on the Publish button:

If you do not have a family site, then make sure to leave the window clicked on the first option, and press Next to continue to create a new family site.

If you already have a family site, then be sure to select the second option as you are going to select the family site that you want to publish to.

If you have published in your Family Tree Builder before:

You should see a list of projects to publish and the site to publish them to. If you don’t see the correct combination of project and site, then either press on one of the lines and click edit, or click on add to add a new project.

select the second option as you already have a website, and click the Next button. Select the family site you want to publish to (not shown) , click Next.

To visit your site online, in FTB, from the menu select Tools > My Sites then click the link Visit Site. An alternative to this once you have visited your site, create a bookmark in your browser so you can always access the site easily.
