I am happy to update this thead with good news. Someone has undertaken the task of starting an Arbucle DNA project at FTDNA. It as only just started, so it has 3 members. If you choose, you can compare your DNA against their entire database. If yoou are interested you should contact the project administrator, Michael Arbuckle at sixpack4speed@hotmail.com . DNA testing as worked well for me, Springer, and my mother's brother, Richardson. there has been some surprise connections. As time goes by, the database gows and connctions appear.
I am not a male, but my grandfather was Frank Arbuckle, born in Huron Valley, TN, Dec 25 1879 of mixed parentage--white mother, possibly black father. I could get my brother to take the test if there is any interest in pursuing this line. I know my great-grandmother was caucasian. Hope to hear back. I find all of this very interesting.
I'm not a man, but it will be interesting to see what replys you get. I just found this site and am researching Archibald Arbuckel (le) and family in Philadelphia in mid 1800's. What about you? Happy to share what I have.
