I sent you as message that Jacob was my great grandfather. He may have been my great great grandfather. My great grandfather was born in 1854 and was named John, and was also a brewmaster in Rushford Mi. My grandmother was Stacy Pfeiffer who married Otto Albrecht.

Not sure if we are directly related on this side of the pond, but i'm finding that my Malter ancestors arrived in the U.S. about the same time. Maybe there is a connection across the Pacific. I'd be interesting in sharing what i find when i get more concrete provenance. What have you been able to unearth ?
