I am looking for any info on my gg-grandmother, Edna Verna Bea Catherine Cheek, born 2/2/1862 and died 5/12/1936. She was born in Georgia, according to family. She married Francis Marion Holland, born 1/20/1855 and died 12/15/1913. Both are buried at Old Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hodges, Franklin co., Alabama. She had a brother named Jack who moved to Alabama after she did. He had a son named Andy who lived near Phil Campbell, Alabama. Our family has always said she was part Cherokee. Any info would be appreciated.
I am researching the Cheek family for a friend of mine. He was adopted as a baby and his birth mother's name was Marilyn Cheek. He has very little information and both adoptive parents passed refusing to tell him anymore than he knows. She lived in Missouri and had several children. That is really all he knows. I think I may have found a little more info than that but want to be sure if at all possible. she would be around 72 now. She may even be living as we hope she is. He really wishes to meet her. FYI----My husband is from Georgia---Sylvania. We ride our Harley there every year in June. It is a 2500 mile round trip for us!
