I, too, am descended from George Brassett and Neva Miller. Their child Ethel Mae was my maternal great grandmother. I have some information for you.

My research has Neva's full name as Evanel N. Miller, born in Dec. of 1877 to Fredrick "Fred" A. Miller and Marietta "Mary" E. Halstead. Fredrick was born Mar. 1846 in Newburgh, Orange Co., NY and died there sometime after 1915. Marietta was born in Oct 1850 in Athens, Greene Co., NY and died in 1930 in Orange Co., NY, probably in Newburgh as well. Marietta is buried in Little Britian Cemetery in Orange Co., NY.

I have Neva being born in Orange Co., NY, not in Ulster. The 1910 census for Wawarsing, Ulster Co., NY lists her living with the George Brassett family as a housekeeper with the last name Miller. I, too, have not been able to find a marriage certificate for them. I suspect they were never officially married, but I don't know for certain.

Hope this helps you.
