I've reached a  point in my research where I can't work out who my 4xgreat grandfather's parents were.  My 4 x great grandfather was John Snowball b27/11/1785 d26/1/1832 married to Mary Hedley b abt1787 d 12 May 1842 - married on 18/7/1818 in All Saints, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England.  They had five children: Mary Ann, Cuthbert, Elizabeth, and John.  I have found two Cuthbert Snowball who could be my 5 x great grandfather but I'm not sure what to do next.

Cuthbert Snowball born 1751-? Corbridge, Northumberland, England married Mary Rochester born abt1764 at Corbridge, Northumberland, England on 21 Feb 1785

or

Cuthbert Snowball 1753-1805 from Hartburn, Northumberland, England married Mary Codling 1755-1828 at Hartburn, Northumberland, England on 11 Mar 1779

My issue is I don't know where to check to find the correct parents of John Snowball?  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Toni Snowball-Kui

Have you thought of the possiblity that he actually married both?  Then perhaps there was an early family and first wife died in childbirth on in that marriage?  So many times this happens and the man then needs a new wife to care for any children. If you check there does seem to be a gap between Mary b.1784 and Edward b.1787 that gives enough lee-way for this to have happened.  So John Snowball would be the second child of the first marriage and Edward the first child of the second.  And therefore it is possible that Mary C died in childbirth after Mary b.1784 was born.
