Searching for parents of Ziba (Z S H M ) Patterson , born Petersburg, New York, about 1825-30. Father was born Scotland and mother New York.

Worked for railroad. Went to Mississippi around 1850-60, married Ellender J Shoemake and they moved to Louisiana.

He was also a Baptist preacher and farmer.
