Some cousins names that I know are: Kelly, Brown, McCourt, McGavigan, Houston, McGlinchey, Penrose, Quinn, Wilson, Connolly, McCool, Marshall, Hunter, Craig, Gibbons, Kildea, Black, Allison, Vance, Carlin, Pepe, Drumm, Stockton, Bonner, Love, Hannigan, Gallagher, McConnell, Kerkez, O'Donnell, Doherty, Dickson, Brogan, McGuigan, Lamond, O'Hagan, Walsh, Reid, Sullivan, Travers, Tracy, Doran, McGarrigle, McMenamin, Monaghan, Gurly, Kirk, Sispaneac, O'Neill, Robertson, Patton, Lynch, White. I'm sure there must be many more.
I have never found the connection that brings me to my family in Ireland. I cannot get any farther back on the McElwee side than a James McElwee that was born in 1772 and was married to a Mary Smylie. They had children David, Elizabeth, Fannie, James, Margaret and Mary.
So I do not know how, but I am sure I am some cousin way down the line :) My mom is a McElwee.
