I am trying to trace my ancescetor Samuel Horton, Married to Mary Richards who emmigrated to Adelaide South Australia on the Duntrune in 1876.  They were accompannied by Mary Jane (2) and Emma (less than 1).  Emma died in December 1876 in Adelaide.  Samuel and Mary lived in Nailsworth Adelaide South Australia but also lived in Parkside Adelaide South Australia and had more children in Adelaide.  My grandmother, Florence Elvira Horton is buried in St Saviour's Anglican cemetery Glen Osmond along with a number of her siblings.  The siblings built houses in Hay Road Linden Park and Portrush Road Linden Park  and ran dairies and market gardens.

Hi Dennis,

I am Margaret Burdon nee Buckerfield and we are cousins as you are most probably aware.  I lived a 4 Hay Road until about 5 years ago.  Remember you and Robert and also your parents (just).  I have dabbled in family history for years but am not an expert.   I do know a little about the Buckerfield/Horton background.  My email is mjburdon@dodo.com.au if you would like to use that. My grandmother was Florence Elviria Horton (Glen Osmond Cemetery) whose father was Samuel Horton.

Faye Wilde nee Gilbert has some Horton photos taken of our ancestors.  I have not been in touch with her for years but she used to live in Rosslyn Park I think.

Also a Gilbert works at the State Library who is connected with Mary Jane Gilbert nee Horton

Best wishes

Margaret.
