Mary Axanter was the daughter of Frederick and Harriet Axanter/Alexander (Nee: Horne). Her father was born in Frankfort on the Maine, Germany. It is not known why or when he came to Australia only that he was a shepherd on "Yarrowyck" Station, Walcha NSW Australia. Mary's grandfather (George Horne) was also a shepherd.
Any information on the Axanter family (who later changed their name to Alexander and/or White ) would be much appreciated.
