The Evans family I am looking for came to this country about 1773 (Samuel Evans). I am also looking for German Turners who settled in Virginia, possibly earlier than 1773. The Turners would have moved to Iowa during the Civil War, to a town called Stawberry, that no longer exists. They then moved to Missouri.
Zacharias van Sweringen (also Swearingen) was the son of Gerrett (also Gerritt) van Sweringen. I haven't been able to find out too much about him, other than he was born about 1662, and had four sons, Thomas, Van, John and Samuel. Any additional info on him would be appreciated.
