does anyone have any information on the cowan family who lived in haddington,east lothian scotland i have found numerous cowans in that area and can only assume that they are all related .i am stuck when i get to andrew cowan married to a helen hunter please help any information would be most helpful.

There is a book called the (The New World Book of Cowans) it has place to write and search for Cowan in Scotland, also Census records. I am searching my grandfather Samuel Cowan i think Jeremiah Cowan Is his great grandfather 1768 birth North Carolina death 1822 South Carolina USA.I can send imformation on some of the place if you would like the adress in Scotland.

I would be very grateful if you could send me this information. do you know where your ancestors came from in scotland or any of their names as i would keep an eye out for any information i might come across that would be useful for you. my husband too has ancestors that emigrated to America from Scotland but as of yet i do not know their names it is something his gggrandfather used to tell his grandad but no names were passed on to my husband before his grandad passed away.

I am 19. My grandmother is Juanita Cowan, still alive. And my grandfather is older than her though. He passed away when I was just a baby.. so in 1989 or 90 i guess. His name was Carl, but I think his real name was ruffus carl cowan. That's all I know now. I will have to talk to my relatives to find out more.
