I too am a descendant of John & Ellen Gregg. I just recently stumbled onto your web site and familly tree. So I just entered a tree for my corner of the family at http://www.myheritage.com/site-201442411/gregg I also posted some family pictures there as well, one of which is the same picture as one of yours. the "greggs".
Unfortunately I don't have any information on the ancestors back to Ireland. But if I can help with details on family members closer to me I am pleased to help. Likewise If you want copies of my pictures as I have our family photo albums back to about 1900, you are welcome.
John GREGG and Ellen HUDSON of Sligo - County Sligo, Sligeach, SLI, (Province of Connaught, Connacht), County Sligo
John GREGG and Ellen HUDSON of Sligo, Co. Sligo, Ireland travelled independently to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where they met, married and had their first children. From there they moved to Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. In 1908 they celebrated 70 years in that location with many descendants and a few of the children of John and Ellen still alive
I am descended from John and Ellen (Hudson) Gregg, and I am curious about your connection to them. Their daughter, Catharine was my 2x great grandmother (she married Richard Wilson).
Hope to hear from you soon, as we do not have alot of information on the Greggs.

Hello Michael.
Yes these are my ancestors!! Their son George had my Grandfather Samuel George Gregg. Do you know anything about John's parents in Sligo? My records show that he was orphaned young. And Anything on the Hudsons would be very much appreciated too. I can find no records of Ellen's parents. Her brothers and John Gregg are recorded as haviong found the army pay and were honest young men and returned it. I don't know their names. I would love to find out anything about either line in my tree.
Thank you very much, Michael!! You are so lucky to have lived there. I'm hoping to get over for a visit some day. I'll try the sites you sent me. Finding things pre- 1901 census may be difficult without help.
How do you know about John Gregg and Ellen Hudson? Are they part of your family too?
I found your name, linked to John Gregg. I am descended from John and Ellen. Their daugher, Catharine, was my 2x great grandmother. I would be interested in corresponding further. I am very interested in getting more information about the army pay story. How do you know that information?
Have you also heard back from the Michael you were corresponding with? I am also interested to learn about the Sligo, Ireland roots.
I recently drove through Clifford, Ontario, which is where your ancestor, George Gregg, was married to his second wife, Janet Dickson. Since Clifford was fresh on my mind, I researched the Gregg family again, and found your message post on this board.
