My area of interest is the Kingdon families from Lauceston, Cornwall as opposed to the Kingdons from North and South Molton. The earliest ancestor I know of is John Kingdon ( born 1544 ? and died 1623 ?) He married Alice Sergent on the 26th January 1569 at Lauceston and had 2 sons, John Kingdon (b1575) and Thomas Kingdon (b1577 ?)
This information comes from "The Kingdon Family- A Second Look" a book published by Albert Sidney Kingdon in 1974. I would like to hear from anyone that has expanded this family history and corrected any mistakes.( I know of a couple in my own line that appear in the book) Also any information that connects the above Kingdon family to the Richard Kyngdon (1393-1471) of Quentiock who was married to Johanna (1395-1471) Although spelt different, the 2 families are thought to be the same. Of course, Kingdom is thought to be another spelling of the family name.
