Well Phillip Lazarus was born in England to parents Solomon Lazarus and Augusta Lazarus. Phillip born before they took the voyue over to the States landing in New York City. The next son (Benning) was born in New York a year later 1861. My great grandfather was Aaron Lazarus born in 1867. My grandfather was Solomon Lazaurs born in 1898. Yes all Jewish background at that time. My grandfather married my grandmother which was Dorothy Kreppel another German name but she switch to Jewish religion. It is funny because Kreppel is a Jewish last name. It could be she didn't know she was Jewish because her mother married an English man Ibbott. Then she died when my grandmother was very young. So sometimes religion gets left out of someone's life. My father was Stanley Solomon Lazarus and he married my mom which was a Taylor and out of the Jewish faith. We were brought up Christian.
