The progenitor of the Savage Family was Robert LeSauvage a Norman Knight who arrived in England in Derbyshire with William the Conqueror in the Battle of Hastings

I have Alanson in New York State - along with other family members. I see a note below mine claiming there are only 3 Savage Families and they are in the South.

Robert LeSavage - ancestor of Alanson?

Thanks, Susan

I'm new to this site too. I'm also from the Tennessee and Illinois Savage's. My GG-Grandfather was Levin Savage, G-Grandfather was Alexander O'Banyon Savage and Grandfather Henry Bowen Savage. My Dad was Hubert Ivan Savage
