I am looking for information on Alfred Green Whitt, born about 1810 in Tennessee or North Carolina, USA and died on 23 Aug 1890 in Dalton, Georgia, USA. Alfred married Ruth A. Gray before 1835. Ruth was born about 1818, in Tennessee or North Carolina, USA. Alfred and Ruth had at least ten children. If anyone has information on this family please let me know. Thanks
I'm so glad to be able to post to your request. Over the last 2 years I have been attempting to track my Whitt family.
Alfred Green Whitt is my ggggrandfather and your bio of him is right on the mark. He was born in TN and resided in Cherokee County, AL for most of his life. His oldest son, James C. Whitt is my gggrandfather. A.G. Whitt is listed on the 1850 federal census with his wife and 6 of their children in the aforementioned county in Alabama.
I look forward to providing even more info and hopefully you may have some knowledge of A.G.'s father, so please contact me.
