I am searching for information on the Tamez family located in Monclova. My GGrandfather was Ysidoro (Isisdoro) who married Virginia Vasquez (Basquez). His father was Juan and his father was Matias. This is as far as I have been able to go.

I am trying to find out more about my Ggrandfather his name is Matias Vasquez. We believe that he resided in Yuma Arizona, sometime in the early 1800's. If he came from Mexico or was born in Arizona, we have no clue. We do not know that as a result of his death that his wife would have remarried or if it was a result of a divorce. Matias, son; my grandfather; Narciso, said that his mother's name was Julia Solis; but I've never been able to find a marriage document on eather of them.

Grandpa Narciso Vasquez, said that he was from Yuma, Arizona and learned mining there and that his father was a miner also. When Ggrandfather died Ggrandmother Julia, remarried and grandpa Narciso, didn't get along with his new step-dad so he left. We believe that he would have left in his teens about 16 and he never saw his family again. We know that he had a younger brother and several sisters.

Grandpas Narciso Vasquez, took on an alias name for about 10 years and then took the name Narciso Solis Vasquez; which is on his grave stone. Matias, is not a real common name so I am hoping that maybe the Matias, you speak of is the missing link. If so feel free to email me @ annamvasquez@hotmail.com
