I have no information on my real father and nobody in my family including my mother will not tell me who he is, leading me to believe that either (a) I know him, or (b) possibly a family member. How do I go about finding him? My email is email@example.com if you have info. Thank you.
Yes and no. It depends on how determined you are. My first suggestion would be to find high school yearbooks and try to find some of the people who were in your mothers class. Go talk to them about who your mom was interested in or who she hooked up with. High school friends often remember what our family members would like to forget. Do you have a copy of your birth certificate? Does it have your fathers name on it? If your family attends a church in the area talk to some of the older members. There are just so many things I could tell you to try but without more information I can point you in a certain way. If you would like to talk or see if I could help you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Just a FYI - make sure that you are ready to find this information. It could be that your dad does not know he is your dad. Or like you said it could be someone you already know. Or you could be a child who was conceived by rape. There is alot of information out there that we can find but you have to be ready for the unexpected also. Barbara
