I, too, am interested in Louis Nadeau and Jane Johnson.  There was a Louis Nadeau that settled in Cornwall, Ontario, but I have never seen any record that shows him with his wife.  I can't quite be certain that this is the same man who married Angelique Allaire, as I have seen in some submissions on rootsweb.com.  Marie Nadeau, dau. of Louis Nadeau, marries Anthony Lamping and settles in Cornwall, and Louis petitions for land grants as a United Empire Loyalist.  I would like to see what other information you know on either the Nadeau or Johnson families.  You can write to me directly if you prefer at sunysa@aol.com.  Family lore says that Louis Nadeau married a Mohawk Indian woman, and there is a photo of Mary Lamping, dau. of Anthony Lamping and Marie Nadeau, wearing a feathered headband at the St. Regis Indian Reservation, where the Lampings were settled for some time before their move to Cornwall.  There was some speculation that Jane Johnson might be part of the famous Johnson clan of Johnstown, NY.  This could almost make sense, as other families that settled in Cornwall were also from there, such as the Alguire, Empey and Eamer families.
